Caela Hopkins

Caela Hopkins (she/her) is one of the co-founders of trans-action.online, a support and advocacy forum for all individuals on the gender identity spectrum. From the greater Seattle area, Caela is a member of the Emerald City Social Club and is a second-generation participant of the Esprit Conference. As part of a multi-generational transgender family, Caela has navigated the challenges experienced by people at different points on the gender spectrum from first jobs to elder care, and brings this broad spectrum of viewpoints to her advocacy.

Tuesday May 13 11:30AM: Let's Go Thrifting!

Did you realize you need one more dress for the week? Need something for those last minute touches for your Ascot hat? Maybe you just want to get out in town for a bit with a supportive group? Come join us for an afternoon of thrifting! We'll meet in the Peninsula Room to setup carpools, then we'll head out for a no-host lunch at a local restaurant, and then visit 2-3 local thrift stores before returning to the Red Lion.

Wednesday May 14 7:00PM: Wine Tasting at PNWonderland Wines

"PNWonderland Wine's vision is to provide a vibrant women-owned wine bar to passionately engage with community growth and advocate for inclusion. and encourage kindhearted wine babble"

Join us in walking across the street to the newly-opened PNWonderland Wine Bar!  The owners Jess and Rachel have invited the Esprit attendees over for a non-hosted wine tasting, and have curated a special flight for us of three wines that will be available for $15 per person.  Jess and Rachel are both sommeliers and are more than happy to share about the wines we will be tasting.

Their full selection of wines by the glass will also be available for $9-14 per glass. A small snack menu is also available to order from including cheese, charcuterie, tinned fish, nuts, olives, chicharrones. 

Their main entrance is on Lincoln Street right next to Moby Duck—just look for the Pink Door and now Pink Window.

LGBTQ+ Advocacy doesn't just mean being Out and Loud and Waving the Flag- there are many opportunities both large and small that can make a difference for our community! This seminar will cover the many ways in which you can be a advocate. Introvert or extrovert, out or stealth, or simply just a supporter- there are big and small actions you can take to make Trans and other LGBTQ+ lives better.
